An extraordinarily graceful five-stone ring from the Victorian period, ca 1890s or earlier. The quintet of diamonds, graduating in size, are Old European-cuts — hand-cut, that is, in the traditional manner. Each is set in its own six-claw mount. Hand-engraving on the shoulders and an intricate scroll-pattern gallery add a classic and time-honoured elegance. The diamonds combined have an estimated weight of 4.50 to 5.00 carat. The crafting is in 18kt yellow gold.
