A glorious period ring in the Art Deco style, here ca 1930s, on a ballerina motif. Here our dancer is caught mid-curtsey in graceful and shimmering plié. The centrepiece, the ballerina's bodice so to speak, is a magnificent 1.50 carat ruby, rich in tone and natural in hue (what is sometimes termed "a pigeon-blood red"). It is oval-cut and elegantly seated in its four-claw mount. The tutu of our dancer is a splendid ruff of fourteen baguette-cut diamonds, radiating from the centrepiece, with further round-cut diamonds, three to each side, glittering on the shoulders. This brings our diamond count to twenty-two, with a combined diamond weight of 2.36 carat. An extravaganza of light and form, crafted in 18kt white gold.
