A beautiful Edwardian ring, of sublime choice and artistry characteristic of the period, ca 1910s. The centrepiece sapphire has been hand-cut in the traditional manner, receiving a carefully faceted cushion cut. In hue it is a cornflower blue; in weight it is over three and three-quarter carat. It is basket-set in a high coronet mount, with ten claws regally securing. Two round brilliant diamonds append, one to each side, of a full 60 points apiece. These too have been hand-cut in the traditional manner. These too are coronet set. The mounting and head are crafted in platinum, the shank in a contrasting 18kt yellow gold.
