A pair of earrings, in an antique style, that display a wonderful craftsmanship and sense of design – trigons, loops and rainbows, with falling drops of glitter. There’s three and a half carat of round-cut diamonds here, mostly pavé-set, but the principals given a rubover finish. Even so, the highlight must be the diamond briolettes. The briolette is a drop cut, without table or crown, but faceted all the way round. It’s reminiscent in a way of the crystals you’d find in a chandelier. Here, we have no crystal, but diamond pure and simple. Five briolette diamonds per earring, each 20 points in weight, for a combined weight of 2 carat. Diamond weight in total is an astonishing five and a half carat. 7cm long, crafted in 18kt white gold: a black dress, these earrings – the evening is yours.
