Victorian Diamond Cluster Ring

An exceptionally graceful ring from ca 1890s or even earlier. It’s a large ring, 33 mm long. The centrepiece is formed of nine rose-cut diamonds, clustered in a daisy display. Trefoils above and below continue the floral motif, fashioned again of old hand-cut diamonds, three apiece. An oval halo surrounds, composed of twenty-two further diamonds, enclosed in scallop-work and millegrain edging. This halo alone has diamonds of an estimated 1.30 carat. Altogether, we have thirty-seven old hand-cut diamonds, with a combined weight of 2.62 carat. The mounting is crafted in platinum, and the shank from a warm and lovely 18kt rose gold.
