Here’s a romantic ring, ingeniously contrived. The centre consists of two pear-cut diamonds adjoining a princess-cut diamond to form a beautiful heart-shaped design. The pears alone are nearly half a carat each (46 points, if we’re being precise). Combined with the princess, we have 1.03 carat in the centre. Twenty-five smaller diamonds, round brilliants all, form a glittering heart-shaped surround. The shank splits at the shoulders which are set with a further twenty-four diamonds, each individually claw-set. The surround and shoulders bring in a further 49 points, for a total diamond weight of 1.52 carat. Crafted in 18kt white gold. Over one and a half carat of diamond – such romance!
