Description
Antique Sapphire and Diamond Ring
- 0.50 carat sapphire
- 0.80 carat diamonds
- Platinum
A period ring of the Edwardian era, ca 1910s, in an unusual quatrefoil or cross design. The centre sapphire, of fifty points, is a radiant cerulean blue. It’s a hand-cut, round-faceted stone, exhibited in an ornate four-claw mount. Four round diamonds accompany it, oriented cross-wise, and mounted in uncommon seven-claw mounts. These diamonds, of 0.80 carat combined, are hand-cut in the traditional manner of the period. The setting is platinum.
